24/7 Emergency Plumber in Cincinnati
Water where it shouldn't be?
Call 513-574-0025, any time, day or night.
When a pipe bursts at midnight or a toilet overflows right before work, you don't have time to scroll through listings. You need a plumber who answers, shows up and fixes it right. Since 1885, homeowners across Greater Cincinnati and Southeastern Indiana have trusted Geiler Plumbing, Heating & Air for 24/7 emergency plumbing, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Is it a plumbing emergency?
Not every plumbing problem has to be fixed tonight. These ones do. They can damage your home, your health or your safety in minutes:
- Burst or leaking pipes causing active water damage
- Sewage backing up into drains, or a toilet overflowing that won't stop
- No water, or no hot water, in the whole house
- A flooded basement from a failed sump pump or a leak
- Strong sewer or gas odors
- A backed-up main drain affecting several fixtures at once
Rule of thumb: if you see water, sewage or gas where it shouldn't be, or you're worried the damage is spreading, treat it as an emergency and call.

What to do while you wait for your plumber
A few quick steps can limit the damage until we arrive:
- Shut off the water. Close your home's main shut-off valve. In most Cincinnati homes, it's in the basement or utility area, near where the water line comes through the foundation wall, often close to the water meter. For a single fixture, close its supply valve (under the sink or behind the toilet).
- Stop using the affected drains, including toilets, sinks, the dishwasher, and the washer, if sewage or water is backing up.
- Move valuables, electronics, and furniture away from the water.
- Keep children and pets away from flooded or contaminated areas.
Safety first
- Water near outlets, cords or the electrical panel: stay out of the water and tell us when you call. If it's safe to reach the breaker panel, shut off power to the affected area. If not, call your electric utility.
- You smell gas: leave the house immediately. Don't use light switches or phones inside. Call your gas utility and 911 from outside.
- Sewage: avoid contact, keep the area ventilated, and keep people out.

24/7 emergency plumbing services in Cincinnati
Emergency plumbing isn't one service. It's a full range of same-day repairs to stop the damage, restore your water and protect your home.
Burst pipes and leaks
We find and isolate the leak, repair or replace the damaged section, and help keep water damage from spreading, including hidden leaks behind walls or under floors.
Clogged drains and main line backups
Sinks that won't drain, toilets that won't flush, and backups affecting the whole house always seem to happen at the worst time. We clear them with professional equipment, not temporary fixes.
Sewer backups and camera inspections
When sewage backs up into your home, we clear the blockage and find out why. That can include a camera inspection of the line, followed by our recommendation for a lasting fix.
Water heater failures
No hot water, or a water heater leaking onto the floor? We repair and replace tank and tankless water heaters, gas and electric. When repair isn't the right call, we can replace the unit.
Water Heater Repair & Installation
What to do if your water heater is leaking
Sump pump failures and flooded basements
If your sump pump quits during a storm, every minute counts. We restore or replace the pump, and we can install a backup system: a second pump, a battery backup, or a water-powered backup that keeps working when the power goes out.

Running, hissing, rocking or overflowing toilets. We repair them, or replace the toilet if that's the better fix.
Water and gas line problems
We repair leaks in water lines and gas lines, and we'll tell you when you also need to contact your utility.
Faucets and garbage disposals
A cracked outdoor faucet, a leak under the sink, or a jammed disposal can sometimes wait a day, but not when water is spreading. We repair and replace faucets and disposals of every type.

Frozen and burst pipes this winter
Cincinnati winters can freeze pipes on outside walls, in crawl spaces and in unheated garages. A pipe that splits can release a lot of water quickly, often when the ice thaws.
- If a pipe is frozen but not leaking: open the faucet it feeds, and warm the pipe gently with a hair dryer or warm towels. Never use an open flame. If you can't reach the frozen section, call us.
- If a pipe has burst: shut off the main water valve right away and call us.
- To prevent it: keep garage doors closed, open cabinet doors under sinks on outside walls, let faucets drip on the coldest nights, and disconnect garden hoses before the first freeze. Get more tips in 6 ways to keep your pipes from freezing.
What emergency service costs, and how fast we respond
We know that when you call an after-hours plumber, you're worried about the bill as well as the problem.
- Fees explained up front: we'll tell you about any trip charge or diagnostic fee before we start.
- Your approval first: we explain the work and the price, and you approve it before we begin.
- No surprise add-ons after the job is done.
Response times: they depend on call volume and where you are. Our technicians head out from their own homes rather than a central shop, so we can often reach you quickly. Active flooding and sewage backups get priority.
Why Cincinnati homeowners call Geiler in an emergency
- Since 1885: four generations serving Greater Cincinnati, and a certified woman-owned business.
- Licensed, union-trained plumbers: they work alongside apprentices and are trained to do the job right the first time.
- Faster dispatch: technicians leave from their homes, not a central shop.
- Fully stocked trucks, so most repairs can be finished in one visit.
- Text a photo: not sure it's an emergency? Text a photo or video to 513-574-0025, and we'll let you know.
- Licensed and insured: before hiring any emergency plumber, check that they're licensed and insured, read their reviews, and ask about after-hours pricing. We're happy to answer all three.
After the emergency: protecting your furnace, ducts and air
Plumbing emergencies rarely stay contained. Water and sewage can reach furnaces, air handlers, and ductwork, and lingering moisture can lead to odors and mold. Because Geiler also handles heating, cooling, and indoor air quality, we can:
- Check whether your furnace, air handler, or ducts were exposed to water
- Recommend dehumidification or filtration for lingering moisture and odors
- Schedule follow-up heating or air quality service if your equipment was affected

Emergency plumbing FAQ
Do you offer true 24/7 emergency plumbing service?
Yes. Geiler takes emergency plumbing calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Call or text 513-574-0025.
How fast can an emergency plumber get to my home?
It depends on your location and call volume, but we always handle active leaks, sewage backups, and flooding first. Because our plumbers dispatch from their homes around the region, we can often arrive quickly.
What should I do if my basement is flooding?
Call us right away. If it's safe, shut off your main water supply. Keep people out of the water, especially near outlets or appliances, and follow our dispatcher's guidance until your plumber arrives. If a failed sump pump caused it, we can repair or replace it and add a backup.
Is a leaking water heater an emergency?
A slow drip is less urgent than a burst pipe, but water heater leaks can worsen quickly. If you see pooling water or corrosion, or hear unusual sounds, treat it as urgent. If you can, shut off the water supply to the heater and call us.
